Diploma in Special Needs Teaching.
The Diploma in Special Needs Teaching will get you ready to work in an environment with children who have special needs such as down syndrome, autism, learning difficulties, ADHD etc. It provides an in-depth understanding about caring and supporting the development of special needs children in education and care settings.
Some units of study:
Teaching children with/who are:
- Slow learners
- Autism
- ADHD
- Physical disabilities (deaf and blind)
- Emotional and behavioral difficulties
- Intellectual disabilities
- Multiple disabilities
- Chronic asthma
- Epilepsy
- Down syndrome
- Dyslexia
Course duration: 12 months
Class schedule:
Theory – once a week (weekday or weekend)
Practical placement – 300 hours within course period, MTIA will place you at daycares or preschool housing children with special needs
Assessment: assignments, exams
Entry requirements: 3 Advanced Level passes or Certificate in Early Learning
